Geisha Itsutomi

Posted by PicasaGeisha Itsutomi
This is a watercolour copy after the original
ukiyo-e by Chobunsai Eishi. He was considered as
great as Utamaro.
His rendition of this bijin (beautiful woman) is quite
simple, as if underlining the fact that she was selling
her art, not her body.

  1. Beautiful representation, and if this is a copy, you should be a master :)

  2. Yes beautiful rendition!
I always thought geisha women were used more as a witty companion than for sexual reasons.
